A native of Yellow Springs, Ohio, Carl Schumacher was best known for his musical talents and prolific career as a lyricist, song-writer, and performer. He was also a skilled carpenter whose designs can be found throughout his hometown and other areas across the country. In his later years he chose to write for the pure joy of putting words to paper - everything from poetry, to a children's book, to the beginnings of a murder mystery novel. He expressed interest in one day publishing his work, though was unable to do so in his lifetime. Enclosed in this book are the previously unpublished poems that he hoped to one day share with the world. His words speak of a man who is faced with his own mortality yet still seeking out the many joys that life has to offer.
