Addiction is an all-consuming disease, and it brings down more than just the one holding the bottle.
We all have our demons. That darker side of life that we tend to keep from public view. It could be chronic illness or a battle with depression. It could be a relative with addiction or a lingering grief from the loss of a loved one. Whatever it is, it's important to find an outlet, a place to let that emotion out, so that it does not consume us.
Writing has always been my weapon against the dark, and lately I've been focusing more and more on poetry and song lyrics. My hope, as always, is that perhaps my words will resonate with others, inspire change, and let others know that they are not alone in their battles.
